You need to understand your own self-promotion. Especially in today’s world it is important to speak up for yourself and rate your own accomplishments. Not in the prideful way, but to make sure that you are valued appropriately for your efforts.
You need to keep track of your accomplishments the savings that you’ve made and purchases and things you’ve done with outstanding excellence. All these metrics are very important for your own professional well-being. It gives you hard data to back up any of your statements or requests with. Asking for a job promotion? Give concrete examples of the excellent work that you’ve done. Looking for that raise? Show purchase order history where you’ve saved tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars by careful research.
Show metrics that you’ve dealt with more customers more efficiently with higher ratings than anyone else.
In the moment these metrics don’t matter but down the line they can have such a huge impact.
Go to bat for yourself! Very rarely does anyone else do it for you.
